Dentist, and general teeth lover.

Well I have made several changes since my last post, and had another go at the cable management since Mikes comments
Anyway, since I found some cable management holes in the case, I thought that I would use them. Must have missed these first time
*I went for the shove the wires behind the panel approach, and squish it all in*
Couple more pics of my efforts:
And I added a new screen, but it had to be to the side, as they would not both fit on the desk. (Its a 19" Dell E17FP, which I was given).
And a new G9 (mini review coming soon... but their RMA is good, I have both the broken one, and the working one here)
And as promised a while ago:
*Dont try this in a school/collage which goes down to year 7 - it hurts

The monitor box is painful when hit, especially as it does not come with padding for your head (design fault - dell should have taken into consideration), and holding a PSU, HDD, CD drive, and mobo by a IDE cable, and a Few molex/20pin power cables over each shoulder is kinda unconfortable as well. (not to mention the big metal boxes resting on your back/front digging into you)
Good thing was has IT with IT teacher I h8, and refused to work because I could not type with it on, and spent about 1/2 hr getting it off, only to have to spend the rest of the lesson (double) getting the thing back on
Phone Cam is crap - but I've always wanted to drop a couple in here:-
I drink loads of water. Notice Angelina's signed photo behind me, and better still, THE HOFF.
Yup.
Well here is my desktop it can get a bit loud at times, the front of the desktop "fell off" so now I have to jump start it by shorting the power switch cable but I generally only use that one for games.

I took this today to show off my daft 'sticking monster cans on my wall for no reason' adventure but got a shot of my desktop so here goes!
Its not that may disks really when you think everything is mirrored, they are mostly small and fast every machine has 2*72GB 15k drive, save the middle one my which is my fileserver, 2*144GB 15K mirror + 4*300GB 15K raid 5, I have got a fibrechannel san as well for those "little" extras, shared storage is fun to play with, I also have a power bill to match.

I took everything back to the floorboards and laid all new cabling and completely redecorated. It was a royal pain in the backside, but well worth the effort. I wanted the end result to have as few cables and other rubbish on show as possible. I'm very happy with the results.
To answer as many of the questions you may have I've put some info by all the pics.
A general shot of the desk, it's an Ikea Mikael. After building two desk for my previous office I decided to go down the ikea route this time as it was quicker and had a better ability to hide the cables.
A bit of a wider shot showing the Ikea besta cupboard on the right it stores lots of my files and other odds and ends. The Car on the top is actually a computer. It's one of several I've built, this being the final and most perfect one. It certainly catches most guests eye first.
Here you can see my setup. It's a unibody Apple Macbook hooked up to a 20in cinema display (Mounted on a Humanscale M7 Vesa mount). I've also got the superb apple keyboard and logitech mx revolution mouse. The irreplacable Apple iPhone 3G, along with a BT Reveal telephone
A great shot of my custom made seat using a Cobra clubman car seat and an old office chair base. The picture is a panoramic shot of Clifton Suspension bridge in Bristol
In this shot you can see the cables all hidden behind the desk along with usb hub, tv card and external hard drive.
Look ma no cables!
An ordinary cupboard? No....
Behind the right hand door is a hidden testing station for clients computers.
A closer up shot of this, you can see the monitor stand I built to allow the keyboard and mouse to slide underneath.
With both doors open you can see the filing cabinet and further storage. I'm so glad I decided to go this route.
