SFF Build, Frankenstein, P4 478 socket.

    Which is best?

My current rig is due for a little upgrade: i.e. a cut and shut of the remaining good bits into a "media centre/htpc", before working out what I really want.

    These bits are:

AGP galaxy 6800 GT (takes two slots though - huge, horrible fan, but it does the job)
    P4 3.0 GHZ skt 478
1GB Crucial 3200 that's never been that stable.
    DVDRW

oh, and i've got a wifi network in the house so that may be useful too.

    What to do?

Sell my beloved 6800GT? get a smaller AGP one or go PCI-E?

tempted to stick with AGP as the cheaper SFFs will probably be AGP and 478, rather than srubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishy PCI-E ones.

Price is an issue, so if you know of a bargin, or have any ideas, please let me know.

All Shuttle's have the AGP slot on the outside so that rules them out.

Biostar I think still sell an SKT478,Thats all i know of im afraid.

Aopen do too: looks quite sexy too (EY65, I fink) - but i couldn't find any info re: the agp being on the outside or inside. I was hoping that suppliers might start clearing their shelves of 478 boxes, but I'm yet to see much evidence of this.
