Is the 250Gb Maxtor Maxline III noisy?

    Hi

I am very interested in the

250Gb Maxtor Maxline III 24x7 Reliability (7200rpm,16MB) SATA II NCQ - Lead Free

but I have read that it can be overly noisy.

If anyone has one I would appreciate their comments.

    Cheers

Mine is pretty quiet, although it is fairly loud when the disk gets properly thrashed (game loads etc) but that doesnt really bother me.

Seems that there must be two different disks out there. My Diamondmax 10 250Gb SATA NCQ (but not lead free) is very quiet in general. Under very heavy use it does make a bit of noise, but nothing like fingers snapping - it's much lower and less intrusive. I like a bit of noise, it would be worrying to have none at all...
