the multiplier is locked on the 3700 so you need to increase the FSB,

    default: multiplier =12 FSB =200

    so: Multiplier =12 FSB =216/217 = 2600MHz

you prob wanna mess about with the HTT too, but i dont understand tha.

On mine the multiplier is 11. I just slowly increased the FSB until it faltered, then slowly increased the voltage till it was stable again , repeat till you reach the desired level.

Getting ur 3700+ all the way up to FX-55 is easy-peasy.. But leaving it there stable is entirely a different matter. I have no experiences with 1MB cache chips but my rev E3 3500+ needs plenty of juice for it to behave itself at 2.7Ghz(1.6V as opposed to a def 1.4V)..

But the general rule would be raising ur HTT and keeping voltage and LDT in check everytime u hit a BSOD solid wall.. You should also keep ur memory limit in check, unless u run them over a 'safe' divider.. most boards will either have ONE weak divider which will often screw things up..

I'm running it at 1.45v and its stable, will experiment with a slight increase though...

Okay little update, I noticed when running BF2 with my OC'ed San Diego that I got artefacts. I then upped the voltage to 1.4625v and its much better, rock solid. I have no idea how far I can take this, I've read it tops out at about 2.7GHz but I don't wanna go there with my stock cooling, I need a decent heatsink first.

    So if your interested i've got it currently on: 237MHz x 11.0 @ 1.4625v

bf2 is meant to be a great way to test an overclocked system as its such a hog. alot of people have had problems with oc'ing and this game, maybe upping the voltage a little will help though

Interestingly BF2 isn't that fab for Processor overclocking, it is about the most unprocessor reliant modern game, it makes very little difference. I use Pifast and BF1942 among other things to see the difference.
