It's a pain hunting the right disc at 3 am when 1/2 drunk when you want to watch a film plus I can access all my films and music via the xbox now using the media center extender setup.

I'll go and hide in the corner now thinking of how to organise my hard-drives as I'm mainly using RAID0 on a few of my arrays and praying that a drive does not fail.

I've done RAID 5 before - cba any more.

As has already been said, it all depends how critical your data is. Personally I think weekly backups etc is just too much of a pain, but if you don't then maybe consider option 1, if not I'd go for 0+1.

I'll take weekly backups regardless of my RAID config... but only of critical data. RAID doesn't prevent something like a virus or software error ballsing your system up, which in my opinion is more likely than a hard drive failure. But still I'd rather have my system still up and running if a drive does decide to go south.

Hmm. I change my mind to options 4 or 1 in that case. Anyone know whether raid0 eats up much CPU power?
