Sata dapter on on my pata drive?

Alright all,
I have run out of IDE Channels and have no native sata drives but want to add a spare pata drive to one of my 2 unused sata ports I have. I got an adapter with my abit board to convert pata to sata interface, meaning I guess that I could add this drive.
Firstly is this possible?
And if so how do I setup the drive with regard to jumpers (master/slave etc) and the power for the drive, there appears to be a sort of floppy style 4 pin port on the adapter but also the molex standard power is not covered by the adapter so which one to use??
Also what about the sata setup in windows anything special to do there ?
Soz for so many Q's but if I sort this it will give me 80 gig more.

You have to run a floppydrive power supply to power the Pata to Sata bridge, and then a Sata cable to the bridge, and the other end to the motherboard. You do still have to run a molex to the hard disk itself. Then its just a case of plugging the adapter into the drive and booting the PC. The drive will be recognised automatically

When I used it on my Silicon Image 3112 embedded on my NF7-S v2 and as a separate add in card they both autodetected it. No setup required unless you want to build it as part of a raid set.

make sure that the SATA cintroller is enabled in the BIOS.
Also pretty sure that you will need to have the SiL drivers loaded.
