It's been stated in interviews with AMD's tech's that the AM2 CPU's will not support DDR1 and that even with an adapter its probably immpossible as the memory controller simply cannot handle the DD1 memory.

Also I can't see how a 939 CPU would be able to slot into an adapter as the memory controller would not be able to handle the DDR2 memory.
