I swapped - ZA security suite found Phish.html, which Norton missed.

Yes it has a smaller footprint and is well integrated.

and I've twice used support - it seems manned by competent humans. How refreshing compared with most helpdesk experiences.

    so very happy

I use AVG as firewall but have heard many a good thing about NOD32. Might switch in the future. As for Firewall, well non other than good old Windows Firewall Got NAT and am considering creating a SmoothWall (More so for the QOS features as my household uses 4 PC's and I never have any bandwidth ).

I alsways had Norton, but found it a real pain, especially when trying to unistall. I tried Kaspersky and then F-Secure, but found them both to use resources a little too much. Under F-Secure, my PC seemed to take AGES to start up. Just installed NOD32 last night, and hope it will be better. Anyone else have problems with F-Secure, or do you think it's my PC?

Try AVG Free Edition, nice small footprint and much better virus detection that Norton/McAfee/FSecure.

Resource hogging is a common problem with 'all in one' antivirus/firewall etc packages.

Router Firewall/AVG/Adaware/Spybot/Firefox for me - my computers run great.

Yes, I'm using AVG free edition too and very happy with it. As for firewall I'm still using old Tiny Personal Firewall 2.0.15 which is almost 5 years old lol but doing it's job just fine.

NOD32 rocks - you'll struggle to be disappointed with it in anyway to be honest.

On the flip-side, Barclays Online customers can get a free 24month subscription to F-Secure's Antivirus. Just thought I'd mention it.

//edit: hardware firewalls all the way - outbound isn't a concern of mine though.
