    anti spyware software

    Hi

i have spy sweeper and microsoft anti spyware beta on at all times.

but i then herd about spyware blaster. and didnt know if it was a good idea to stop spy sweeper running all the time and just run it some times. then downlad and install spyware blaster. because the only shields spysweeper has is the start up shield and tracting cookie shield.

but spyware blaster blocks spyware from even getting on your computer. were as spy sweeper deals with it when its on the computer.

i want to know your opions on it?

I use Lavasoft Ad Aware but only scan for spyware, etc once every fortnight. Does anybody else besides the OP leave their spyware programme on all the time?

Spyware Blaster is good imo, keep it updated and it does the job well.

I also use MS antispyware, Adaware and Spybot S+D.

A combination of those should mean unless you actually want spyware you will have a job getting it.

Everything misses loads of stuff. I use Spybot S&D, PestPatrol, SpywareGaurd, SpywareBlaster AND Adaware SE. I also use SAV Corporate Edition for viruses, have hardware AND software firewalls, a WPA secured wireless, AND I STILL GET SPYWARE from time to time.

There's no way to stop it completely unless you never go on the web. This is because these ba$tard$ are making new spyware constantly. My system is as clean as one can reasonably expect. I do use a few other programs to manually detect and remove spyware. I like HijackThis a lot too.

don't you think theres an inherent problem that we require an AV scanner, Firewall, and X number of AS products to protect an OS? People talk like.. damn those spammers, damn those virus writters, damn those spyware writters.. I need all this stuff to stay safe... why do we accept this as a part of life?

Spybot has really gone down hill over the last few months (as did ad aware a bit to). Spyware Doctor is ment to be the current daddy, not tried it though.

I thought the lasted MS one was supposed to be suprisingly good to.

dont actually have a spyware checker yet, dont want to bloat my system too much

but just being carefull what you download and having two firewalls (hardware and software) should keep me mostly safe i guess
