Exercise a little patience and there will be better availability, better mobos, and hopefully better pricing...... just a little - but not tooooo much!
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

I'm unable to get ANY stable overclock. Anything above the stock 1.86ghz on my E6300 and it's completly unstable. WTF!? Temps are about 40c.

    Specs

cpu: E6300 on stock hsf w/ arctic silver 5
    mobo: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3
Memory: 2GB OCZ DDR2-800 PC2-6400 EL Platinum XTC Edition
    Power Supply: Hiper Type-R 580W

    Stock voltages.

With the bios defaults, my vcore seemed very low; around 1.2. I turned off the settings in the bios that set the vcore and core clock to vary depending on use and have it set to 1.32 or so.

I literally can't even get 1.92ghz to be stable in windows. I have no idea what's wrong here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@ james.robinson - As I am a complete and utter newbie to overclocking, would it be too much hassle for your to give me a step by step guide to achieve these kind of performance increases?
