Cool, I find it a bit odd that it still doesnt work (although, it lasts longer before it freezes) when theres a '300'w PSU running *just* the GFx card, but no worries

New PSU in January it is then

Phew, I thought you had tried to cut corners and save pennies Never scrimp on a PSU, it will come back and bite you on the arse eventually

Indeed, I had no say in the building of this PC (its years old, from before I knew anything about PC's, circa 2001), so its not my fault This should do me, right?

Probably, but im not a big fan of FSP to be honest. How about a nice old skool Enermax if you really want to save some cash. I had one of those and it was great.

The negative bit - it's on the noisy side with 2 fans and 1 blower. The other down side - you need to have muscles like (insert famous boxer/wrestler/world's strongest man name here) to twist the main ATX cable.

I bought one and managed to flog it on ebay

I've just bought another one of these - http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=256343 - not bad IMO

Noise isn't a problem, i'm only going to be using this machine until July/August anyways.

Muscles, hmmm...not got me none of those...

A quick by the by, its odd - I can play DOOM3 for 30mins or so (I tend not to spend long on FPS', cuz' I suck at 'em!) and it works fine, no trouble at all...and yet RTW/GW freeze...are they Direct3D, and is Doom3 OpenGL or Vice Verca?

Youre right, it wasnt silent or anything, but also, it wasnt loud really. I agree about the wires though.

And another bump to my own thread, now running 300w PSU for everything except GFx, and 350w for GFx and it seems better. So that'll do me until Jan.
