Been wanting to go back to SFF for a while but whats been bugging me is that in going to have to sacrifice power, i.e single slot vid cards if I want to use my X-FI card, would have to go to the larger shuttle chassis if I want to use more than 2gb ram (hate the Chassis) then I got to thinking, I have one of the MATX Asus cases here, that would work if I can get the right components.
Everything looks good appart from the motherboard.
I would need a mobo that supports quad core 4gb ram and can overclock.
Does such a board exist?

Boards that support Core 2 Duo should support Core 2 Quad with only a bios update.

Also, pretty sure it doesnt but anyone know if the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Chipset supports Conroe?

some gigabytes have alrady had firmware out that enables quad-core support,

i only know this as I have one, so not sure about other manufacturers...

The AB9 Pro supports quad core with the new BIOS, but it isn't SFF. In fact, I don't know of any SFF boards that cupport conroe and quad core.

There's a fantastic mATX motherboard that I'd recommend even for non mATX cases: ASRock Conroe 945G DVI.

Its a older chipset, should get better performance / future proofing from the 965 chipset.

Performance difference is negligable, and future proofing - guess so, but I don't think many people are thinking beyond Core 2 Quad - 965 boards probably won't support anything that different anyway. :shrug:
