Does anyone else have a Netgear WG111T wireless USB adapter that overheats and makes their pc crash?!
Can you recommend me a better USB adapter please? Thanks

Does it have to be USB? They're widely considered the worst amongst wireless adapters, something of the PCMCIA or PCI varieties are invariably better
Well kind of, unless you can suggest something else...I have a shuttle so i only have one pci slot, which i'd like to use for a digital TV tuner. Bit stuck...guess i could get the Shuttle built in one but i have no idea if that's any good.
I think the shuttle one is USB, just connected to an internal header rather than plugged into the rear.
How about getting something like a WGPS606? and use the inbuilt wired connection - I switched because my Belkin PCI card died, and it has been brilliant Either that or a wireless accesspoint & 4 port switch - I also use it to connect the 3-4 other machines that end up in my room so the WGPS606 is perfect
Do they do a 108mps one of those? And does that suggestion apply to any gaming adapter/print server?
I guess the shuttle one will be just as bad then
What course are you doing by the way? I almost applied to UEA law.
Modern History & Politics - I considered CompSci, but I didn't feel I knew enough to meet the standards (good with hardware/network design, just not at programming)
I don't think they do a 108mbps one, the suggestion does apply to others, but YMMV
