Ok, I'll go reedit the mission then. Not sure how the carrier will effect the mission but heyho, I'll chuck one in so the brave can try it.

Just tried the refuelling and it works ok now. I'll set it to fly a lot longer in the air as well so those waiting have something to refuel on whilst we land

Well I missed the flight but had a play with the SU33 - you're right she is definately a lady! none of this yeeehaw you can give the F15, she likes to be treated right!
But boy does she soar like a bird. Almost too much lift after being used to the yankee plane, takes some getting used to!
was good for practicing getting out of spins, cos I put her in plenty!

Well, not exactly the smoothest mission. Most of us come back to base sheepishly dragging our parachutes behind us. The 33's are *ahem* "in for minor repairs" atm

Me and Pee had a coming together lining up for mid air refueling, i was low down holding steady Pee was up and in front, i went up, he went down and we sunk to the deck. Almost wet myself laughing at the banter afterwards - it was worth crashing just for that.

Within a few minutes of that Blinkz was in a flat spin - no idea what happened there.

Ces was out front babysitting the A50, Lowe was still shouting at the refueling plane cos he wouldnt hold still.

    Mission aborted.

Quick A10 mission followed - Me Pee Blinkz and Lowe - absolutely cleaned house and redeemed ourselves. After landing, i took offence to Lowe's flashy paint job and decided to rip his wing off to bring him down a peg or two

    Good fun

Yeah, wasn't the smoothest mission ever, but for reference we know that we CAN refuel should the need arise in the future. Bit of practice and we'll be OK.

I think the next mission ought to be carrier stuff so we can practice than again. I'll try to make it a bit shorter as well.

In fact I've got an idea.. Su33 ground strike against a load of tanks.. so we need a full bomb load, but obviously you can't take off with a full bomb load and fuel.. so mid air refuel needed else you're in the drink.

    Wooo

Take off from carrier with heavy bomb load, and almost no fuel, then it's straight up for a refuel one after the other, im up for that!!!!

Make sure you chuck in a few vulcans (like shilka only american ), lowe, will be funny to afterburn past them at 1300km/h and watch their fire completely miss

Will you guys be in the skies over the weekend at all? I might have a look around...

Also, how can I set up a little prac mission on my own machine to take off and land on a carrier? And which planes have the hooks coz all that I've tried Alt-G (iirc) on nothing has dropped down...

Stick the Admiral Kuznetsov in the sea somewhere, put the 33 near it, go to the bottom right hand corner "route" bow, there should be a "type" thing there, go to takeoff and the plane will go over then carrier with a takeoff symbol.

Then hit fly, and you can takeoff form the carrier. Landing is a bit more tricky

Su-33 is the only plane that can land on the carrier, alt-G for the tailhook.

Only the Su33 has the hook.

Vulcans are indeed funny, a few of those around and it looks like a firework display.
