Everquest 2 players, what system spec use?

I've decided it's time to move into the Core 2 Duo era, and the associated higher priced electricity bill As Everquest 2 is so CPU limited (single core support only).

Only raiding I've done is Kunark pickup raids, for mythical epic timeline and access to Veeshan's Peak. But would like to be able to run the game in high quality settings for all small groupings at least.

Looking at a Sugo SG03 micro ATX unit, so overclocking will be limited due to CPU cooler size restrictions.

This will play it no problem, aswell as most other games, grab a cheap cooler (not sure what fits) and overclock, although it's not even needed

Wow! That beat what I was considering would be needed. Amazed at how much cheaper your suggestion has come out compared to what I was picking.

Have added my system spec to profile now. This just doesn't cut it CPU wise, and won't be upgrading it.

I was considering a Wolfdale processor, either E7200 (3MB cache) or E8200 (6MB cache) combined with Silverstone's NT06-E cooler (Scan code: LN23145). But problem was picking which motherboard as not followed Intel chipsets for ages. Was considering PC8500 memory.

At least I can aim slightly lower now

You don't need PC8500 memory unless your overclocking very high!

You could keep the ram from your system now, unless you plan on selling it later...
