Epic runs are epic. Reached 50 couple days ago, and ran first full expert instance last night.. setup

(Me) tank/cleric
DPS/mage
Healer/mage
DPS/rogue
Healer/cleric

Entire run from start to finish, in Iron Tomb (Freemarch) took around 5-6 hours, of which at least 2 were spent wiping on the same single boss (we wiped over 10 times and had to break to go get soul repairs lol ). Awesome run though, the feeling of finally getting down those annoying mofo bosses is great, shows that the work and perserverance you put can pay off Even if the loot was a plate helm which none of us could use

the difference in spec of a same level chain item compared to a cloth item is just the armour.

does it change later on?

JK quick question as its been puzzling me.

the difference in spec of a same level chain item compared to a cloth item is just the armour.

does it change later on?

Chain items have mostly wisdom on them, followed by a mix of intelligence and endurance.
For a cleric, 1 wis = 0.75 spell power, and 1 int = 0.25 spell power. Spell power is important to heals in a similar way to melee depending on attack power.

Cloth items generally have more int and less wis, which means if you wore cloth as a cleric you would end up with a weaker build overall.

Tbh, each calling has its own type of armour, and if you wear the wrong (lower) armour then you are just gimping yourself: Mage/cloth, rogue/leather, cleric/chain, warrior/plate. There are very few situations where you can wear a lower level type of equip and be better off.

Hope this answers your question Clerics, whatever role they take, should wear chain - as a healer you should aim for mainly wis, then endu and int mixed (imo).

If you want a little more breakdown, here is what each stat does:

1 STR: 0.5 attack power, 1 parry rate, 1 block rate
1 DEX: 0.5 attack power, 1 dodge rate, 1 physical crit rate
1 INT: 0.25 spell power, 10 mana, 1 magical crit rate
1 WIS: 0.75 spell power, more mana regen (I can't pin down how much exactly, it's weird)
1 ENDU: 9 HP

The last thing you should want to know about pure healer cleric, is that the Sentinel, Warden and Purifier souls are best for the job, although in different ways. Each of these souls has their own strengths and weaknesses, it all comes down to how you like to play
Sentinel is generally better at group healing and raid healing;
Purifier is generally good at single target healing and shields;
Warden is good in prolonged fights, with single- and multiple-target heal-over-time skills.

I had missed the post on the rift forums about the invasion! Really looking forward to this tomorrow

Have been playing a few weeks and have a Guardian Level 20 Rogue on Overlook server.

It is the most fun I've had in an mmo for years! And I've played daoc, swg, wow, lotro and a few others.

The game also looks fantastic... but it has pushed me to upgrade from an ATI 4850 to an Nvidia 560ti so I can have it looking nice and run decent fps... Thank you for the new graphics card scan

you on the OCUK guild? im in there. i rolled an alt mage there in the deviant side and level 13 now. just started last friday. hoping to reach a decent enough level so im ready for the invasion. a shame i cant move my main char in this ocuk server. the ocuk guys are great. one of them gave me 3 plats to buy a mount and i was only level 8 or something.

@ josh: I'm on Blightweald/Guardian with an occasional alt on Defiant side (only level 14-15). Seems that a few other HEXUS are on Blightweald/Defiant.

How is everyone finding the achievements (from who are interested)? There's some really interesting ones, I found one that reminds me of Portal - and the title it rewards suggests that Portal was the source of inspiration for that ach

Does anyone from Hexus still play this? I tried the free trial and bought it last weekend. Have been messing about with a few chars, got a 24 Cleric and a 22 Rogue, but not guilded and wondered if I should try a PvP server or stick where I am (Riptalon).

I stopped shortly after i last posted, work got majorly busy in the last couple of months. I received an email the other day to say my gametime expired so i must have signed for 3 months or something and forgot tbh i cannot remember.

Don't think i'll be coming back anytime soon, although it is a great game.
