My situation was more of me turning an easy kill into a big mess, I'd just pulled up from 100 to 2000 to be *just* higher and about .5 behind him, going at 160ish. He noticed me (probably F6'ed me as I was on RCAAF_FB server) and started bucking about to try and avoid my fire which was imminent, I pulled up slightly to target him and then the spit thought it was in a ballet or aomething and started spinning all over the place :/

He rolled over and followed me in a dive, which took him all of 2 seconds to get into them BAM.

    P51...P40's even....those are finer......not better...just finer.

But you want ENERGY fighters..lets talk Jug's....P47's. Damn hard..damn hard...but if you'rs good in them (which I am NOT at all) they are awesome.
I agree there, allot of people fly it but then so did allot of allied pilots. I think I've flown it online once or twice but I really prefer the jug to anything else for either energy fighting or BnZ. In the last 6 months the jug is all I've flown apart from a bit of P38 (great energy fighter!) and some A20 action which is like a big P38!

The P47 is all about preperation and patience IMHO. You have to plan a route where you can climb without interference and take it really high. Imaging its like a bull, build up speed and huge amounts of altitude, find a victim, watch there movements while letting your engine cool off and at the right in time charge from up high in a shallow dive (it builds up speed more efficiently than a steep dive ironically), if you think your gonna miss, break off the attack without deviating to much from your current heading to save energy and zoom climb or verticle climb back up to your perch. The guy you attacked will either roll and dive futher putting himself at risk or try to climb and catch you which is probably the worst thing they can try to do. Having a wing man is also good, its a great team plane..but most of the guys I play with hate the P47 prefering the little VVS jobbies.

    P47 vs FW190...the ultimate battle

by the by...the shallow dive thing......when you say efficiantly, you mean that as speed builds it creates lift of the wings are still vaguely horizontal...hence giving more E in the bank?

I'll take a '47 everytime but Im partial to a A8...I love the firepower.

Thats one benefit of the shallow dive but its how the '47 gains speed best while retaining some height, give it a try, do a verticle dive and a shallow dive and compare the speeds you reach and the altitude you loose with both. Theres also ditching persuers, even if you have a persuer theres no reason at all to do anything than a shallow dive to get away. The P47 can reach over 1000kph in very little time at all in a shallow dive at full power from high altitude, with rads closed, theres not an axis plane that can get near that without falling apart. The fastest a Ki84 can get to without breaking is near 850kph, the 109 is around 800, FW's get to 900's which at that point the P47 is still accelerating!

The key is altitude though and buckets of it. The supercharger is geared for high altitude and its got excellent aerodynamics which only really offsets the 7 ton weight up high.

Thats completely drifted off topic lol.
