LevelCapGaming does an interesting analysis of the trailer here:
Quite few new ideas in there like the gas mask, which sounds interesting with limited field of vision and muffled sound. I can imagine suppressors disappearing in main weapons since I think they are overpowered in combination with spotting and the mini-map, which could get an overhaul too.
T-Gewehr tank rifle based on Kar98. Single round, single shot.
In depth analysis of it by these guys.

I was completely under-whelmed
WW1 - Very small selection of (gimp) weapons.
The trailer made it look like "guys on horses with swords" vs "tanks, guns and planes"
Lawrence of Arabia???......this is BATTLEFIELD.
I guess if your into swinging a sword, killing with a shovel and using bolt-action rifles, it could be great :S
But this will not be a BF I am interested in......guess it's time to start looking for a new FPS game

Yeah I wouldnt write it off so easily. Dice will likely use a bit or artistic license with the game and include variations of technology of the time to make it interesting.
The melee system should be interesting. The BF4 system was genuinely one of the worst things in any game I have ever played, so they have a long way to improve it and with it being such an integral part of the game.... they should do exactly that.
I find that bolt rifles actually make a game loads more competitive. It can significantly slow the play down and make it much more tactical... this could be exactly what the franchise needs.
I think the return to a less technological age could be exactly what the Battlefield franchise needs. It'll be nice not to have weapons like cruise missles, SUAVs, guided-missiles etc. Hopefully it'll be more about skill in BF1
Looking forward to this one
