    Post Constructive Post : Honest.

Disclaimer : This post is in no way targeting any individual, its purpose is constructive not destructive!

Problem 1 : I have a quest log full of elites and dungeons, i need groups to help, this is getting hard due to the way the guild works. Preferential group - see below. With out this help i cannot help the guild in the specific weapon area, my preference was "Swordsmith" as i can use swords, the guild needs a "Macecrafter" so i am told, so i have taken the relevant quest from winterspring

Now i am not saying the guild is unhelpful at all - so do not level that at me!

Problem 2 : Preferential Group : We have a group of people that have quested together a lot, they know how each other works thus making the difficult instances a lot easier to complete. Nothing wrong with that. This does me no good what so ever, because (Due to my late arrival in the guild and late arrival to LvL60) i am not part of that group. Curreently i am questing with "Arun" who a few of you have met (Thouroughly nice chap, if somewhat a little "Hasty") and any other pickups we can then find. PICKUPS ARE NOT THE REASON I JOINED THIS GUILD.

Example 1 : The other night i was told when i enquired "Think we have a full group FoT" no problem there TBH, but then 1 hour later members are moaning about a "Pickup" they have taken into blackrock Makes me think that i am no good in instances, this is probably true, BUT if i dont get into those instances i will NOT get any better - sort of a catch 22.

Example 2 : I am in blasted lands, when i am asked if i will summon someone i group with that person, then another and we summon an individual, then i am asked to summon someone else, i have no shards so i goto get some (Easy in the blasted lands) i then summon the last individual to complete the group 5 members, for a specific quest. Unfortunately i am not part of this groups plans as i see in guild channel a request to a specific guild member to help with the quest. Being a little intelligent i realise 6 dont fit into a group, and raid does not complete a quest, sao i leave to let the other join. NOW dont get me wrong i can understand it was a difficult quest and you want the best group - this is not moaning just trying to show the preferential group thing is all.

Maybe i am making a mountain out of a mole hill because i have had these quests for a long time and have seen them go from red to yellow to some of them now green. If so tell me I am not going to name names as i am not "Having a go" at anyone, just trying to highlight issues so we can move forward on them, think i allready made someone's ignore list due to a comment i made, dont want to make anyone else's

A few suggestions to help i think.

1, lets get some other higher lvl players into the higher level instances, that way they get the experience and learn to become better group players - this will also help with raids.
2, Lets get the higher level players to go into some of the lowerlevel instances with guildies. What does this do? This helps lower levels to experience HOW the higher levels play and what is expected in hgh level groups. Experienced players means anyone can help out in any instance (Level dictating) and know what is expected from them and what they can expect in return.
3, Maybe make an active forum member a "Instance Organiser" - You want to organise a specific instance, you send a PM, organiser makes post, all interested post in post, organiser creates a diary type thing after editing the post. The problem here is that sometimes the volume of posts soon make thed instance request "Out of view" so it can get missed.
4, We have no high level Smithy that can do the thorium armour now, i have 120 bars so far, so i can get some of the plans but not all - is it something we need? Or a waste of time?/money/effort?
5, Maybe make a post with the high level quests that people have still to complete like :

    The fallen hero series -
List your name and stage you are at with the quest - then others will know who to help out with it.

    **End of Moan**

Although i hope this will be viewed as a constructive post, as i said i dont want to make anybody's ignore list, just want to make the guild more enjoyable.

You are not the first to post these exact comments father-time and i'm sure you wont be the last. This was the whole reason i decided to stand for Guild Master. People has even gone so far as to leave the guild over this and even stop playing WoW as they don't find it enjoyable. Threads like this are usually discouraged to stop anyone knowing the guild has problems (mainly because it's so big) and is a prime reason we need a private forum.

You say that you are no good at instances but if you are or anit this is not your fault. We are all learning this game and the only way for you to get good is to do them in my opinion.

My advise to you would be to put faith in our new Guild Leader and hang in there. There are some dam nice people in the guild which have. We are a big guild with many member reaching lvl50 soon. I myslf should be lvl60 soon and as you know will happily helpout if i can and/or have the time.

This specific example was about needing to make a group that works. We had to take a shaman/priest into LBRS to have any hope of making progress because we needed some to be able to res us. Also warlocks, useful there are, are not the first choices for instances (along with rogues but we only have one lvl 60 rogue). When making a group we need a tank, healer, secondary healer/reser, and two others. Me and madocks started the group earlier taking the two spaces for the 'other' classes so neededing to take mattak velan and a shaman along to res.

This is why I now have a priest alt at lvl 26 and rising
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Rest assured FoT I am keeping a close eye on the situation, Sadly there are certain grouping constraints but I will do my best to see all have a fair go at instances.

As Eru has pointed out this problem will be greatly alleviated soon as we have many members rising rapidly up the levels.

I think it's the nature of the beast in these situations that our classes (Hunter, Warlock, Rogue) are just seen as 'additionals' in an instance group and hence it becomes more difficult to organise a group properly. The situation is amplified somewhat in the high level instances as you can no longer get away with an unbalanced group

Thanks for the replys. As i said i a am not "moanin" as such, but we have great members in this guild, far better than my previous guild who were also quite big. The reason i bring it up it to create a better environment as a whole, from what i have seen most people are quite good at accepting criticism and learning from it, me included.

As i said Slarys, not really a prob, i DO understand the need for a group that works especially in those instances, BUT where does that leave the other lvl58-60 characters??? Thats what i am getting a

I have a lot of faith in the guild leader AND the officers of this guild, hence the reason i felt able to make this post, but if problems (Percieved or real) are not brought up solutions will not be made.

I hope no one has taken offence from this post as that was not my intention.

I agree, those classes are more specialised in what roles they can perform i guess, but they will still need experience of those instances aswell as the quests they need to complete.

So what is a solution? Does the two remaining spaces left get rolled for to see who goes? No, because no group wants an individual, if there is a preferred individual online. Not criticising really, as i am exactly the same

    Catch 22!

Yes I agree that some of the problem lies in the game itself i.e. you cannot do these instances without a healer or tank and are also quite miserable without a resser (As we have recently found ).

We will though try and get everyone involved as I dont want anyone to feel excluded.

Also remember if anyone has any specific problems or issues feel free at any time to make myself or any of the officers aware and we WILL look into your problem

If you organise an instance trip then you won't be left behind!

It's just being in the right place at the right time really.

If this is the occasion I think it is, you were asked to stick around also, but wandered off, and it wasn't until we were half way through something we realised you weren't there and we only had 4 people in the group and one extra person..

    Okay...well here's the solution...Dire Maul, tonight

BRS is a load of crap, no fun at all in my view, whereas Dire Maul is rather good...if we set out to do East, which you need to do and which is quite easy, then West which both you need to do and I need to do again...and drops good loot...

The shaman we got was...well...less than satisfactory...problem is that I'm the only level 60 healer in the guild and I can't res more than once per half hour, so doing high level stuff in guild is shaggy right now...

I know (or at least, I think I know, without wishing to put words in mouths) that Madocks and Redpiggy feel somewhat the same...its the lack of healers that is the problem...and a lack of time too. I've been saying lets do DM with you for a week now...well perhaps tonight?

Problem is...you NEED a healer...and instances with me AND a priest have been very smooth (well...relative to normal!)...maybe we should try Dire Maul with 2 hunters, warlock, me, and...well, who else wants to come?

So apologies if you feel slighted, I'm completely free to do whatever YOU want tonight, assuming you can bear(sic) the grouchiness! (I'm off caffeine by the way..last cup was about 10:30 am tuesday...)

Was gonna suggest something a little lighter last night, but I got in and went straight to sleep!! And when I got up the servers were down.

FoT all I can say is that it is an absolute pleasure playing with you, Arun's a great guy too but yeah as you say..hasty, :] as he would say.

The big problem with BRS, and this is on my 3rd or 4th time in, is that the respawns occur really quickly...so a self-ressing shaman..and me ressing him also..kinda works quite well..problem was he was a "green" level 60 not a "blue" if you know what I mean..not great equip..nice guy, but there you go.

So, Fallen Hero would be ace, Dire Maul East is a nice easy instance, West is good fun...up to you dude, I am at your disposal.
    Well Hello!

Lil, yes that is the incident, no it wasnt a problem, just an observation really. I never saw any chat asking me to stay otherwise i think you know by now i WOULD of. Where do i go to start the DoomGuard quests Lil and will it cost me as much as the DreadSteed quests?

Mattak, there is NO need for an apology, not from anyone, im just airing stuff so we can deal/sort it Thats all.

Slarys, thats a good point, although i have organised an instance before now, then just before we set off i got kicked to make way for a Priest (Was even asked to hand over group leadership, which i DID Durh!! Never did get to thank you for that Tulipa But i will try to organise aswell, the problem is the game is for ALL to enjoy not just FoT, others will not enjoy babysitting me, when they are out for a good night of gaming aswell, knowing this makes it hard to ask for help with the high level instances where a balanced group is essential.

As for Dire Maul - of course i will join, i wil join any instances,as getting no experience any more kinda makes all instances a joy to play rather than a quest filled experienced hunting jaunt. It no longer matters to me which mobs i kill

The higher the coin output in instances the better for me - 150 Gold for some stardust :@( BAH!!!

Doomguard is a hard quest, but it's free, or nearly. Starts at a dude in the west part of tainted scar. You can corpse run to get to him, otherwise you will need a group of at least 15 to get anywhere... I corpse ran.
