    XPS420 vs XPS Studio

    Hello,

I have posted twice previously, and this will be my last post for a bit since I intend to purchase a Dell PC tonight (using a voucher). I have considered the XPS420 and XPS Studio previously.

My final questions (keeping in mind I won't upgrade or buy another PC for approx 3 years)

    1) 420 vs XPS Studio - with nearly the same spec (XPS420 has an Intel Q8200 and the Studio has an Intel i7 920)for rougly the same price (420 is slightly cheaper), is the XPS Studio a better PC to go for regarding gaming and general office work?

    2) Will an ATI Radeon 4850 be sufficient for gaming for the next 3 years or so? (I don't play games on the highest settings).

    3) Power Supply - the only thing concerning me regarding the XPS Studio is the power supply (concerns were noted in the Hexus review: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=16444&page=9). Would I be pushing it to any limit if I did the following at the same time: Play World of Warcraft on medium settings, have 10 web browsers open, listen to music and have a couple of USB devices attached.

Once I make my purchase, I'll let everyone know how it goes :-)

    Thanks again!

    Re: XPS420 vs XPS Studio

I would get the Studio and wouldn't be concerned with the power requirements. Dell don't often get that wrong and if they do you will know soon enough and they can fix it under warranty

It will be good for gaming on over the next 3 years especially if you are willing to lower settings which you obviously are
