Thread: Mesh Computers - Who should he complain to?

I'm seeing both sides of the story here - while Mesh can't be 100% blamed for the components they use the minute they ship it to a customer in a MESH box it's their product. Dell also sell PCs to a lot of people without the degree of technical knowledge that you see on these forums, but you don't see half as many complaints from users.

I think MESH need to sort out their support experience - their forum here has one guy (and I wouldn't trade places with him for all the 7800GTXs that Overclockers sold at the weekend) looking after what only seems to be people complaining that they can't get through on the support lines etc. Look at the Scan forums; lots of friendly staffers eager to help. Scan aren't at fault either if the boxes they ship have duff goods, but you see flip sides of the coin in terms of user feedback. When a customer buys a PC there is no requirement that they understand how to use them - forums are a great source of support, but how do you know who to trust?

I work in IT support, btw. For my sins I used to work for PC World support, so I don't need to hear any horror stories about how people are stupid - I've been on the recieving end of most of them.

Hope that's a relatively balanced opinion on this thread.

I would like to know how Mesh using a known defective HDD (the famous fujitsu one) and
not replacing it when it fails (in warranty) is user error.

90% of un happy customers complain in writing where as only 30 - 40% (if not less) of happy customers compliment in writing.

This is the same for any business, with ANY company you will always find more complaints than compliments.

From all the purchasing my friends or family have made with Mesh I have to say that they have NEVER had a problem and i know a fair amount of people who have Mesh machines.

Im sorry if my post does not contribute to the subject but I thought i'd just add my comment to this thread.

Very true, you will make a thread bashing a product but will you make one saying "yeah its good, thanks" .

Theres no real piont is there?

Also considering the amount MESH sell your bound to get some problems, espically since were dealing with computers.

In reply to ExceededGoku comments, I did diagnose my own problem, when hard drive failed I downloaded appropriate diagnostic software to confirm this, that was in Feb 2006, since then two engineer visits but same engineer, failed to install replacement SATA hard drive, second visit even replaced motherboard, still failed to replace SATA hard drive. I have a paid for three year on site warranty and I am now told that after two visits it has to be returned to base I am physically disabled and this is a more difficult option for me to arrange. This is why I paid the money to have an extended on site three year warranty. I also have no original packaging and I am responsible for the safe return of my unit. Three on site warranty is a joke. I have asked that Mesh now send me a replacement hard drive so that I can have the problem resolved locally. By the way my system works fine with an IDE drive installed.

This company should not be allowed to trade in the UK, ANYONE READING THIS WHO IS CONSIDERING MESH DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PRICE ETC, IF IT GOES WRONG AND IT WILL, IF WILL CAUSE YOU ALMOST INSANITY TO TRY AND CONTACT SOMEONE TO REPORT FAULT AND TO AFFECT THE REPAIR, LOOK AT ME I AM STILL WAITING.
