    PSU dead?

I tried to turn on my pc today but nothing, no lights on from the led on the motherboard, no noise no fan spinning from PSU.

I think that the PSU is dead but my system is a little over a year old. Spec:
    CPU - AMD 1055
    MoBo - Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
    Graphicard - AMD 6950
PSU - 750W XFX modular black edition.

I have no paper clip to try out the test. Can I use something else instead or does it have to be the paper clip? Unfortunately, I have no spare PSU to test each part out. I already tried to test each component but just nothing at all.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers.

Update: I tried the paper clip test and it failed. RMA it tomorrow.

    Re: PSU dead?

A bit late but yes any bit of metal that will connect and make good contact will work.
I've stripped the plastic of the ends of a twist tie to jump start a psu before, although the problem with that is the wire is a bit thin and can fall out or not keep contact, a standard metal paperclip (not plastic covered one) work great because of the thickness and stiffness of the metal.
Personally I've found that the best paper clips to use are the large paper clips as the metal is that little bit thicker, I always have one or two on me at work because the paperclip is such a great all round multi tool.

    Re: PSU dead?

Yeah, I did that at the end. I also noticed that it was a bit thin but did try to make contact. Now think about it, I would have bent it a few times to make it a bit thicker. For next time I guess
