Like the Brazilian electrician, Jean Charles de Mendezs, shot dead by armed police.

The more armed police you have the more shooting incidents you will have. At the momnent officers who handle firearms are highly trained. Allowing all of them to carry guns will dilute that training. Gun crime in Britain is very rare so it's pointless arming all officers. The police don't want to be armed and the British public do not want them to be armed.

Armed response teams are a decent balance.

Jean Charles de Mendezs shouldn't of been in the country anyway, he was here illegally after his work permit in this country had expired, hence why he ran from the 'Police'.

I'm all for more police carrying guns on the streets of Nottingham as there is definitely a gun crime problem here. I emphasise more, because in my opinion NOT all officers should carry them.

Where's the evidence he 'ran' at all? I thought that the latest was he walked calmly through the turnstile, picking up a paper on his way, then proceeded to the train at walking pace. The witnesses at the time have been proven wildly inaccurate with their exaggerated statements. I hardly think the crime of overstaying a visa means he deserved shooting, and can hardly be used to excuse the actions of the police.
