Perhaps those of us who feel that way shouldn't have replied at all, but just see it as temptation getting the better of us
I agree... i could be wrong but i get the impression that it is sometimes brought up simply to try and start a heated debate...

I believe in creation, others, like Funkstar, believe in evolution... on a forum with so many users, with varying views we aren't going to come to a nice settled answer as to the origins of the universe and why we are here, we are all entitled to our own views, and we all have our own reasons for believing what we do... I'm happy to chat with people about my faith and my views, but i don't want to argue with people, and i dont want to be an arrogant prat and beat people across the head with my views...

if that makes any sense at all...

Can't we have the word female, or male added to their profile ? Just a suggestion.
Would the gender status in the profiles help you with your research on these subjects? What real difference would it make?

What, may I ask is wrong with Gin?

What gender do you think I am?

Sorry but the created in x amount of days doesn't wash with me.

I'm from a scientific background and all the rules of Creation seem to break every known law of science that we have at the present time.

Nope, for the obvious reasons of security. I'm sure you've heard of net stalkers?

If not, post a question about them on the forums you visit. A good couple of chapters worth for your book, easy.

    Re: Evolution or Creation.

Gender?! What next, sexual orientation? Profiles/internet persona aren't necessarily true and quite frankly it's none of your business. I don't see why we should be required to divulge personal information to substantiate narrow minded comments.
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

Ive read all your posts this morning as i have a litle time and they are almost all bordering on weirdness.
For someone so new to a forum, why are you doing your best to exclude yourself or turn people against you?

There is definitely more to your 'oddness' than just someone having a passing interest.

Who are you to determine what is "weirdness, or what is normality ? Their are no moderators within the human psyche. We are all individuals, and as the old saying goes, "one man's meat is another man's poison." If you suspect there is something wrong with the meat don't eat it.

Are you doing a psychology assignment or something?

You seem to have randomly joined this forum to post questions on controversial subjects, as if you're trying to monitor the results or something.

I would assume that you are female if your favourite tipple is Gin.

Nothing wrong with Gin at all, but it has always been recognised as a woman's drink. Not a very macho drink. Hence the reason I questioned the poster's gender. Just applying a little bit of Sherlock Holmes psychology. If a poster whose gender I didn't know mentioned in a post that she/he regularly drank neat Brandy, I would then make the assertion that the poster is male. Just some of life's little observations I often put into practice in ascertaining a persons gender.

No, you're stereotyping. Furthermore, what difference does a person's gender make when posting a comment on these boards?

Yes, I have studied psychology and the Human Psyche, and it's amazing how one can discover certain things about a poster's personality and inner character in a handful of somewhat benign posts. After spending a relatively short period of time on any forum it is possible to write a text book on the human psyche and it's response to controversial subjects.

First thing to remember in the field of psychoanalysis is; Most humans can be likened to sheep. They feel more comfortable following the flock. On the other hand I feel more comfortable just being me, a freethinker. It's most interesting to observe the amount of hostility a freethinker encounters on discussion forums, or even in any other walk of life. They refuse to conform to the norm and it upsets the passive, conditioned majority. The question now is, why does the majority become upset and annoyed. Do they feel threatened by someone who refuses to join the flock ?

Let me remind you that while James Bond drank a Vodka Martini rather than a Gin Martini, the G and T has long been the staple drink throughout the warmer parts of the British Empire.
