tried abbey national for a joint account never again
and gnat west were aholes
What about egg, cahoot and smile internet banks? Has anyone tried them?

Midland oriiginally, but been with First Direct for years now...
Smile - Absolutely tops, no problems with them at all.
I have an HSBC keyring but have never stepped into an HSBC bank! I can't quite remember how I got it but it's quite nice.
I'm with Lloyds TSB but if they won't give me a visa debit instead of this stupid electron I may threaten to move.

I was with the halifax for years then they switched the faithful cardcash account from a solo (thats accepted at hundreds of online stores) to a crappy visa electron. 2 months after that i set up my student account in anticipation of uni and went with HSBC as they gave me a railcard and i like the look of the logo. Now i have switch and can buy from nearly every website.

Natwest as they do a great graduate account and were really good throughout my time at uni
