The trouble I have with politicians is their loyalty...

All politicians have loyalty, but unfortunately, there are powerful force begging of this rather precious commodity: loyalty to the party/party leader, loyalty to himself/herself, loyalty to the electorite, loyalty to his/her own principles and loyalty to the country. Unfortunately, based on my observation, their loyalties tend to be in the above order in rapidly diminish toward the end.

Another vote for Guy Fawkes (if he was in the poll)

Find me one who doesn't lie/lie by ommission......Then spin it.....Then say they have been misunderstood and really meant something else.....Then cover it up.....Then sack someone else saying it was really thier fault....

Then maybe I'd vote for them!

I dont really sound like a cynic do I?

They have also voted to increase it many times, and if you look at thier declarations the majority have positions on boards in industry at the same time as being an MP commanding several times thier MP's salary with guarantees of being able to increase this many times once they retire from politics.

Sorry but an altruistic MP is as rare as hens teeth
