To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
errrr, I dont see whats funny.

...protests among the Sikh community in Birmingham...Protesters said Behzti, which depicts sex abuse and murder in a temple, portrayed the Sikh faith negatively....Three police officers were hurt...The theatre said some protesters managed to get backstage, where they smashed equipment and destroyed a foyer door...
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
i guess there is some hidden meaning as i can't see anything funny about it either.

Uh oh, doh... "Sikh's rampage through streets of Birmingham in protest of being portrayed in a bad light"

I think Yamangman is pointing out that the Sikh community wants to be seen as NOT being nasty, violent and oppresive.
But they still managed to cause a huge fight and injur some policemen.
I think maybe his tongue was firmly in his cheek, pointing out the irony of a nasty situation.

"Fighting" (with words or in extreme cases violence if you feel no-one is listening) for what you believe in, is something most of the population have forgotten how to do.
I'm sure Vaul would agree with me that would say the outrage caused by some druggy beating some old granny to deal for £5 causes less of a change (even with all the publicity) than direct action in some cases.
If you are a minority and feel opressed, in this country you can move planets, and you may only be 10 people...
Thats why i get wound up by things like this.

You're right my comment was a generalization, I was liberally waving my poetic license, but not once did I say they were all trouble makers. I see no reason to sit here being defensative over an ARTICLE that I thought was truly amusing in it's irony. I was making no conclusion, assumption or even hypothesis on any level from the fact these people were Sikh's, the fact that they were hardly contemplated the THOUGHT of crossing my mind in relation to the article.
The fact that they are Birminghamers, well, that's a different matter.........

I can see the irony in it, I was just baffled by you saying it was "funny".
Personally I think that they are just the same as the reactionarys we have in regards to other issues crying for things to be banned like books and film. I dont agree with censorship full stop, if you dont like it you dont have to go to see it. It was written by a Sikh so im sure that if they watched the content maybe they wouldnt find it so offensive. I would lay money on the protestors reacting before seeing it as the thing has been canceled without a single performance, pretty sad really.
ban this filth!!!
down with this sort of thing!!!!
etc...

And before you say anything about me being in the ethnic majority, i'm not.
