a very valid point, and because of that i prefer what i know of the ideas of buddism - more a set of values taken from a noble man than a religion based upon a god.Originally Posted by Firebar

You've just proven what ive said previously. The existence of God and the truth within the bible doesn’t need to be proved simply because of what they are and represent. Its the typical response from followers of religion. Ive heard it many times before. At least the idea of science is trying to answer some questions instead of just accepting the simple way out that some super something created us. Ive not once heard of or come across a religious person asking the question "Who created god?"Originally Posted by Firebar
And Christians don’t make wars where did you get that idea from? Most wars in the world have occurred through two or more religions interfering with each other or when two or more factions dont have a common goal. Ive found in my short life so far that almost every "thing" has an opposite. Isnt it just convenient that God expelled Lucifer from heaven and now he has an opposite to. And will i go to hell if i drive at 32mph through town? In the modern world most people would be going to hell. Its human nature to "sin" (as its called) on times.
And yes there’s an undeniable proof that we evolved. Once again Adam and Eve provides a simple and convenient way of explaining things. If we all came from Adam and Eve why do we have multiple races : white, black, Asian, Chinese/Japanese. If we all came from two people right at the start we would all look pretty much the same and we would all have the same ethnic background.
I'm sure a lot of christians do reconcile the evolution proof into their belief in some way. It's not as if a lot of prominent scientists aren't christians anyway. I'm sure Einstein had Judeo-christian beliefs - every aspect of a religion is open to intelligent debate, as intelligent people only really seem to take what they need from a faith.
I've even met a christian paelontolgist (is that spelt right?), who told me that he believed god created the earth, but not in the whole 'genesis' format. He thinks of god as a really skillful scientist himself.
Now, I'm not a church man; done it as a child, wasn't my belief system but thanks for all the cake anyway. I'm one of those crazed eastern mystics, so I see the whole good/evil argument as one of those never happened things. And, I think if you're an onimpotent being, with infinite knowledge, a concept of good or of evil would be far too small a thing to comprehend. It'd be like a human being trying to think in the same way our cells feel. If god is that badass, god just does what ever he likes without going, "ooh, was that a bit heartless."
Although, the line that got me back into South Park does make me chuckle;
Chef - "God makes us cry because our tears make him powerful Stan."
Yes it is a rather beautiful method of control....Originally Posted by Firebar

The DNA of any two people in the world differs by just 0.2%, and only 6% of that is down to racial characteristis (e.g; caucasian v asian). A very small amount. The family of man is one, as they say.If we all came from Adam and Eve why do we have multiple races : white, black, Asian, Chinese/Japanese. If we all came from two people right at the start we would all look pretty much the same and we would all have the same ethnic background.

God is referred to as He purely by convention and the dominance of the masculine in language. He is neither male, nor female, but calling Him 'It' is avoided since it runs the risk of referring to Him as an object and not a person.
And by Judeo-Christian defintion God is good, and the essence of goodness. Goodness is part of who He is.
No trees were harmed in the creation of this message. However, many electrons were displaced and terribly inconvenienced.
So god is neither male nor female, but according to the trinity (no not that chick from the matrix), god is father son and holy ghost, well father and son are definitely male so is only the holy ghost female.
If so that makes him 2/3 male.
BTW I think god is neither good nor bad, more impartial, thats if he does exist which I doubt.
I will, but not till later, I'm late for college atm.Originally Posted by Firebar

How does that work?So god is neither male nor female, but according to the trinity (no not that chick from the matrix), god is father son and holy ghost, well father and son are definitely male so is only the holy ghost female.
Imo he is neither male or female, at least in the way we look at sex.
