wouldn't have expected it, meself, on Al Jazeera - not that I know too much about what is broadcast there.

That woman was scary.
Isn't Memri TV (or is it channel by another name) on payroll of republicans to translate arab television content and show bits that favour US interests? hence we didn't see a reply to her stereotype propgandist slogans which weren't wholly accurate.
Well done al-jazeera for showing it though. Freedom of speech right there.

I wondered for the first 30s or so if she was talking about the Bush administration.
Anyway, I don't know why people have this idea that Al-Jazeera is a terrorist propaganda station- oh yeah, maybe it's the repeated implications to that effect from the US Government who don't seem to approve of independent media.

Thanks for that link - she basically expresses exactly what I think funnily enough.
I also thought it was funny when the Muslim bloke proved her point by asking her whether she was a heretic. That link will go into my bookmarks folder because it shows the case in a nutshell.
People only think of Al-Jazeera as a terrorist propaganda station because it receives all the footage that the terrorists make. It then shows the footage. Unfortunately those who believe it never switch it on or visit their website. They often translate in to English.

That video was edited - the questioning about Israel's treatment of the Palestinians was not shown in this video. I watch Al Jazeera a lot and it just says it like it is. There is no bias whatsoever in my opinion. For those that don't know, Al Jazeera is headquartered in Doha (which is the capital of Qatar). Qatar is very pro-American and the American Command and Control centre for the Middle East (i.e. the Iraq war) is in Qatar.
Al Jazeera has an English Web site as well for anyone that wants to see whether it is biased in any way or not:

Wasnt Al Jazeera the station that got an interview with Bin Laden when he stated that he had never had any part in 9/11 whatsoever.
Why would he bother doing that if he has most of the Western world chasing him down?
I like Al Jazeera from what i have seen and heard of it, its really one of the few ways we have of recieving information on hostage situations from Iraq. Seems to be well trusted in the middle east.

ALL stations / media are biased. Unavoidably. The use of language implies it.Originally Posted by Taz

well alot of people seem to think that the BBC and in fact all western media are pro - George Bush/Tony Blair which is frankly just as ludicrous.Originally Posted by Rave
