Good point G4Z, the last time I read an article similar to the one by John L. Daly was an article decribing why powered flight is impossible. Mr Daly appears to beputtingforward convincing arguments but in essence he is saying the world is flat anddefending pollution.

Simple version of things - Sun shines on Earth. Heat hits surface and bounces off back into the space. CO2 and methane bounce the heat (I'm not getting into UV and infra red here!) back down onto the Earth. The more CO2 and methane there is in the atmosphere, the more heat is reflected back onto Earth therefore the warmer it gets. Venus is an extreme of example of this happening.

As for why CO2 et al has increased, part of it is down to natural cycles but the majority is down to mankinds actions and as a result we're reaping the whirlwind folks. The next century isn't going to be fun!

I wonder how the author accounts for the antartic ice shelf that sheared away recently.
Probably by pointing out that every other part of Antartica has grown whilst that one part broke away

Dont have that reference to hand. I will find it later though. However mull over this:

The British Antartic Survey's position on Climate change.
These people are acedemics studying Antartica and they have no underlying agenda other than studying it and providing data.
    http://www.antarctica.ac.uk/Key_Topi...ange/ccps.html

It's pretty obvious there that they are saying that we can say man made climate change cannot be used to explain what is happening, and that the ice shelves shearing away may be caused by a natural cycle. They also mention that global warming may actually increase the size of antartica as warmer air means more snow over there.
These people I have a lot of respect for, since they haven't aligned themselves with any view on Man made climate change - they are just stating the truth: We dont know what affect man is having on antartica.
I personally think that applies to the whole world. We dont know.
That doesn't stop a bunch of meddling greenies suggesting alarmist policies nor politicians from implementing them.

Personally I think the RoHS is far more important for the future of this planet that the Kyoto Protocol.

Heres a good website, supposedly this movie really shocked a lot of people at Cannes. I'm waiting for it to go into general release as i don't think it will be released in the cinemas over here. I can't actually post the link because I don't have 5 posts yet (doh!)

That site looks top me like a Global warming Jihad site.

I loved the Quote by Al Gore about hurricane Katrina meaning people are now entering a world of consequences, implying global warming caused it. That shows what a moron he is since the frequency of hurricaned has been steady for the past 50 years
