Question Thoughts on this budget HD movie watching system?

Budget HD movie watching system. Only purposes will be web browsing and watching movies in HD with no lag, with other undemanding tasks in between. Anything that needs changing?

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68P-DS3
CPU: Intel G620 Dual Core 2.6Ghz
    RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz @ 9-9-9-24
    PSU: Corsair 430W V2 CX
    Case: Bitfenix Merc Beta
    DVD drive: LiteOn iHAS124

I already have everything else that isn't listed.

I would look at the core components in this system:

    http://forums.hexus.net/pc-hardware/...ml#post2150593

The IGPs found in the Llano CPUs are better at media decoding than the HD2000 series IGP found in the G620. The A4-3400 has an HD6450 level IGP and the Asrock motherboard has 6 SATA3.0 ports and 4 USB3.0 ports too. The A6-3500 has an HD5550 level IGP.

I have a Core i3 2100 myself but for media playback I would look at a Llano A4 or A6. The HD2000 IGP in the G620 lacks ClearVideo HD unlike the HD2000 IGP in the Core i3 2100. However, the HD2000 and HD3000 IGPs cannot playback 23.976 fps files properly unlike the IGPs in Llano.

The Antec EarthWatts 380W is made by Seasonic and uses a ball bearing fan too.

Re: Thoughts on this budget HD movie watching system?

Will you be using the onboard graphics or using a discrete GPU?

BTW, our CAT has a monthly guide, have a look at some of his builds, it could be of use to you:

    BTW, welcome to the forums!

Using my i3 2100 for a media center, it plays massive 30GB 1080p clips fine with the standard IGP

I wouldent worry too much about the GPU power
