1024mb video card? no way, GTA4 needed over 1000mb VRAM for max settings...

    Sorry, I meant bigger keyboard.

As per all the other posts, no one knows what you'll need, these are all guesses based on rumours - utterly pointless.

Save your money, worry later when facts are released.

I read the OP and thought is this guy joking? I wouldn't be wasting money on upgrading because frankly there's just no need to

Re: Grand Theft Auto V PC upgrade

but why if the game will need more VRAM?

Grand Theft Auto 4 @ 1920x1080 and all settings at max needs ~1400mb VRAM
Grand Theft Auto 4 @ 1920x1080 and all settings at max + ICE enhancer needs ~1800mb VRAM
Grand Theft Auto 4 @ 1920x1080 and all settings at max + HD textures + >80new car mods + ICE enhancer needs over 2000mb VRAM

    So GTA5 might need 1400MB, or 1800MB, or 2000MB, or 2400MB, or 3000MB.

When we know what the number actually is, we could make a good recommendation.

Now, people can only guess, and that's not much help.

If GTA 4 was anything to go by, what you'll need to run it at max is an army of competent developers.

Wait until the specs come out as it's a complete unknown as to what it will need. Or, use Star Citizen as a benchmark and power through every game that'll come out in the next 12 months.

But wasn't that partly due to imbecilic coding that adjusted shadow resolution depending on monitor resolution?
