Cheers Jas!
I've not received any images from you - could you forward them across and I'll have Ben look into the case issue for you.
All the best

I keep asking Lee about this but I think he's tied up and I keep losing my basket full of goodies, I want to have a gigabit network, something I can't establish is, are all Cat 5e cables gigabit capable? I keep looking online but it's a minefield of info and spewling out loads of queries to Lee, and I still don't know what is what, I know I need a N900 router for wireless in the house which is also connected to my business, I have 30m cables I want to establish are up to it, and all the others, this is how it go's
All cat5e and cat 6 cables are gigabit or are some 5e etc not gigabit?
And if I have my connection coming into modem could I then put it straight into the gigabit network switch, connect all these in the business to that switch for network and internet, then put the Gigabit router right at the end of my wired network in the house, or do I need a gigabit router in here at work and then another one in the house? ie will the switch cope with that or does it need to go from modem to gigabit router, from there to gigabit network switch, then over to the garage on our house to another gigabit switch for our cnc router, then from there to upstairs in house and a gigabit router there to give a system there gigabit speeds to the ones at work and wireless internet for all what the kids use ?
Currently it comes into here, into a non gigabit router, then into the gigabit switch, from the switch over to the garage in the house into another non gigabit router, then from there into the house
itself upstairs bedroom into another non gigabit router which gives wireless to the kids etc, I think I could have it come in here, straight into the gigabit network switch, from there to the house to another gigabit switch in the garage, then from there to the N900 in the house, and it would all be gigabit?
I have this switch
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Gigab...5801025&sr=8-5
And I'm blooming confusing myself now too so hell how anyone else can figure it out.
I just ended up ordering a N900 router, some extra cat cables listed as gigabit, I'll install all that and see where we are at then.
The side panels on the 550/551 case, silencio, one side has a flat foam insulation, the other side has an up and down foam lining that is also thicker, as you look at the front of the tower, which panel go’s on which side?
I've asked 2 at Scan, Coolermaster too, and I'll be sending the carrier away again in a minute as I haven't heard back from anyone so another wasted journey for them, same as yesterday.
Hi
Cat 5e is fine for short distances but you might be better going for Cat 6.

Hi PCT, From all I've been told 5e is gagabit too, hope so as I bought 5e gigabit cables off Scan.
It's the 550/551 silencio case sides I need an answer on before the carrier comes back, I think he may of given up anyway as it's gone 6 already.
One side has flat foam lining it, the other side has a wavy thicker foam lining, which one go's on what side?
I've given up with trying to suss out a gigabit network and will suss it out myself with trial and error, got the leads, the N900, just need one more gigabit network switch and I should be good to swap it all over, how do you benchtest it though, file transfer speed or something else?
And if it does turn out they all have to be Cat 6 I will be well
Hi
Yes, 5e should be ok from what I understand (not that deep into cable standards)
Can't help you with the case as not seen that one, is there not any manuals on CM's site
A file transfer should be fine to test it.

Nothing on CM website or the documents I got with the system to tell you which way round they go.
In 'case' anyone else has same issue, the panel with the thicker wavy foam should go on the left side of the tower, the thinner flat foam on the right, but Scan as they put the large fan in, you have to put them on the other way around unless 2 people put the sides on, so the silencio won't be as silencio as it is designed due to the size of the fan that is used, what a flipping effort that was to find out.
Gigabit network, follow up coming soon, so far looks like I will need 2 routers as you can't go from modem to gigabit network switch, as far as Netgear have said so far that is, just queried that to make sure.
Scan build guys didn't know what panel they put on what side, and after plugging my modem into my network switch I can also say the people at Netgear don't know how networks work, just plugged my modem straight into my network switch, works a treat, so no Netgear, I don't need 2 flipping routers!!!!!!!!!!!!
The amount of times I've known more about products manufacturers make than what they know, is ridiculous!!!!!!
Confirm also 5e is gigabit.
How do you test, if it has GB connection the light is green on the switch.
Slowly getting there.
Well thats a new on me.
Provided the cabling is correct, the router can chuck out data at 1 Gbps and the switch can accept it then thats all you need.
I contacted Netgear support some years ago about an issue with a router I had at the time, a factory reset fixed the glitch in the end but their support was less than knowledgeable.
I still have a Netgear router terminating my ADSL connection as the kit isn't bad but I doubt I'd us any of their professional kit.

Netgear came back to me this morning, saying how I wanted to do my network would work, as it does anyway after plugging modem into the network switch, so, despite Netgear, SCAN and god knows who else saying I can't do what I have done so far, and what I intend to do to convert it all to gigabit, I was the one who was right, so you may need a router somewhere, it definately doesn't have to be after the modem, I will try the network without any router but that may not work, but why not either as the routers are all wireless access points only, the router acts more like a switch with aerials to give wireless too, if I didn't need any wireless I can't see why I would need a router at all, so . . . . .tbc
I've been through and set the settings for stability with the 3XS systems as the sticky note, the other thing is if it's overclocked I take it the windows feature showing you the system details doesn't know it's overclocked as it says 3.5ghz, how do you get the true overclocked figure or how do you know if it is running at the overclocked settings?
Signline download the Intel processor ID tool http://www.intel.com/support/process.../cs-014921.htm
This will give you the expected stock clock speed and the actual clock speed the CPU is operating at
