When you buy a PC, surely you agree a contract, at a moment in time, to buy a machine. That's the point at which money is taken.
While it can be galling if prices drop after that point, think of the converse situation. If prices rose after that point, would you expect Scan to be calling you and saying "We know we agreed a price and have a deal and you paid and all, but prices have gone up £30, so please pay the extra". I sure as hell wouldn't be impressed if they did that.
So the inference from this request is that if component prices go down, Scan are expected to reduce their prices, but if prices go up they're expected to absorb the hit, even if they've already ordered the bits for your build at the old prices.
It rather seems like a case of one way you win, the other way Scan lose.
In other words, and this a personal opinion and not an official HEXUS one, the request is just a bit cheeky.
