    Just joined, ordering later on

I've been keeping an eye on the 3XS i7 Custom -system for a while now, and I'm pretty much sold. I'm moving to UK this September and I'll be sure to make an order A.S.A.P after that. I do have however have a couple of questions:

    1. Is it possible to swap some components in the pre-configured systems?
    2. Whom should I contact for such action?

I'm really looking forward to my Scan System, as I've mostly read only positive feedback. I'll be sure to post my order here once it's in.

    Thanks in advance.

You can get your rig configured in any way you want really. This thread here will be enough. Check out the sub-forums for customised rigs made for Scan customers.

Sweet, thanks on the advice mate. Can't wait for a new system really, but don't want to risk it falling apart when I move. Guess I'll just have to be patient and configure my system over and over again

    Hi Chadwick,

Great news on the 3XS system

You can make amendments to the systems this isnt a problem, any amendments do need to be vetted by us first mind

Either post them up here or give the sales team a call,

If you have any other questions dont hessitate to post them up

    Cheers

Now, I only have doubts on the case. How's that particular model for an air-cooled system? I read some reviews and there have been mixed opinions. I do like the look of the case, but I'd rather have a functional one. How large of a impact will the case have on the overclocking of the system?

If anyone has any personal experience on the case, I'm very happy to hear about them. Also, all suggestions and reccomendations are welcomed.

Re: Just joined, ordering later on

I think that rig is looking very good.

Just one suggestion. I dont know how your budget is but if possible, try to squeeze in a SSD hard drive for your windows and general apps (and depending on the size, a few games). It will make a tremendous amount of difference to your windows experience.

You might notice I have been looking at a rig too (my thread is just next to yours in the forum) and literally I was so close to going for the velociraptor too until I saw this video (and many more like it):

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_Jz7IMwBt4

I really dont think that is doctored as most SSD review sites seem to agree that there is a massive diffrence between read speeds on HDD vs SSD. In terms of write speed, it may be a bit slower than the raptor but lets face it, unless you copy millions of files a day you wont notice too much, but you will notice the double speed boot up time and the millisecond opening times of pretty much any program!

So yeah, Im sold! If you have a look at my posts you will see that I am going for the Intel SSD. Seems to be the best at the moment although I would like a bit more than 80Gb, its enough for a complete OS install and most apps/programs I can think of.

    Chadwick

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, the system spec looks spot on.

It’s by far our most popular system

We love the fortress case, and have found no problems in cooling what so ever.

If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to either post up or email me at philipp@scan.co.uk.

    Cheers
