    Responding to emails..

This is just a message to Philipp to let you know that I sent an email to you on 28/12/2009 and have still not had a response back. I find this level of customer service poor, and this has put me off slightly from 3xs, when I was all but ready to order.

Here is the email, and I would appreciate a response ASAP:

    Dear Philipp,

I am interested in purchasing either the 3XS Performance GTX - Custom Series - New Dec 09 or the 3XS P55 OC - Custom Series - New Oct 09 from you and just had a few questions.

I notice that you offer a XFX HD 5850 HD 5870 card as an upgrade with the P55 system. Given that you currently don't have these cards in stock, will this affect the delivery date of the PC if I choose one?

Secondly, can any other cases be chosen instead of the ones given in the P55 system, for example an Antec 300 or a HAF 922? Also can I specify a different cooler, e.g. a Fenrir, or a different PSU as well? If yes, then how can I do this?

With regards to the Performance GTX system, there is no option to select a HD 5850 in this system. Why is this?
Also, again, I would like to be able to choose a different PSU, particularly a modular one. Is this possible?

    Re: Responding to emails..

To be fair SCAN like many other employers have been busy over the christmas so I wouldnt expect a reply straight away. On top of that you e-mail right between Christmas and New Year, right when people were off either as they booked it off or part of companies anual leave, more than likely they would have had a massive back log of e-mails and orders.

To be fair, calling the customer service poor after 6/7 days 2 of which were weekend, one was New Years Eve and the other was New Years Day, so infact its 2 or 3 days is a tad harsh.

I am sure a scan member of staff will point Philip to this thread when they or he is not busy.

I will try to answer your questions anyway, although I am sure a SCAN mod will correct me if I am wrong.

In regards to the GFX Card holding up the system, then yes it will, if the card is not in stock, then they cannot build the system and test it thoroughly, so any dates they give I imagine will be an estimate.

In regards to the case, I am sure I have seen mentioned elsewhere on the forums that, yes, you can choose other cases then those given when configuring, again a scan mod will have to confirm this.

Thanks for the quick reply Philipp.

I was only annoyed because I ideally wanted to order the computer before the VAT increase, but no matter.

    Re: Responding to emails..

    A curious question for Scan:

I have ordered the "3XS P55 OC - Custom Series - New Oct 09" on 29th December, and although I selected a Saturday 9th January delivery date, and was given an estimated date of "11th January unless you selected a Saturday delivery", I understand that it's likely to be delayed with the inevitable Christmas backlog. The website today also says that deliveries are now delayed further due to the bad weather, so I'm fully expecting a delay since my order status has only got as far as accepting my payment.

But I did wonder what the situation is if the Scan prices are lowered in the time the build is delayed? I'm not counting the "Today Only" discounts, but more like something such as the increased availability of the HD 5850 causing a price drop. I haven't checked if any prices have fallen or not - I just saw that the P55 Custom has now been "updated for Jan 10", but I can't see that much has changed, other than a few options have been removed from the selections.

I'm assuming it's just part of the 'risk' of asking for a pre-built system?

Thanks in advance for your response.

It is also possible to use an alternative case and PSU as requested, If you can PM me the specification you are looking for along with your e-mail address I will send a quote to you in return.
