    SSD Installation on 3XS PC

    Hello,

I am interested in buying a 3xs PC, specifically with the Silverstone Fortress FT01 Case.

My question is how do you install SSD's in the PC's you build ?

As far as I am aware I have seen no brackets for mounting SSD's, so do you use double sided tape or something ?

Loads of brackets available. Scan have loads of different types.

    e.g.

The Corsair drives even come with 3.5" to 2.5" brackets.

    Desktop - i7 930, XMS3 6x2GB DDR3, X58A-UD3R (rev2), 2xHD5870 1GB (CrossFireX), Crucial C300 64GB , 2x2TB WD Caviar Green, Corsair 650TX

My machine has four hot-swap 3.5 drive bays, with adapters for SSD devices. Since I'd ordered an SSD and two mechanical drives (to be RAIDed together), I expected to fine three of the bays filled. Instead the mechanical drives are in the bays, but the SSD is velcroed (really!) to a flat level surface in the case. I'd love to know why they did this. I mean, it looks very neat and everything, but it also looks a little odd

Yes! Is your machine from 3xs? I am trying to find the picture of someones 3xs machine which has I believe velcroed SSD on to the base of the machine it looks cool and will allow me to take out the two hdd bays in the machine to allow for more efficient cooling as I will only have one SSD in my PC

Mine is a 3XS machine, yes. No pictures of it, I'm afraid. But if you look on the web for pictures of the interior of a Corsair 800D, my SSD has been velcroed to the floor of the 5.25 drive bay area, on top of the mini-enclosure that contains the hot-swap 3.5 drive bays.
