ATI 7000 series

Hello all,

A quick question - the AMD 7000 series of graphics cards was originally supposed to launch this year. However that appears to be pushed into next year.

I had originally decided to go for a Scan PC with Nvidia GTX 580 - however I then read about the 7000 series.

For those with GPU knowledge, will a PC with the Nvidia GTX 580 let me play the latest games now (Crysis, Battlefield 3, etc) and the latest games in 2-3 years at good mid-high settings?

My dilema is: buy now from Scan with Nvidia GTX 580 or buy next year from Scan with AMD.... hmmmmm


Any advice is gratefully recieved.

The first cards are SUPPOSED to be out in early December although there may be limited quantity which driving prices up.

Personally, I'd wait - and in fact, that is what I'm doing. I've got a 1GB HD 5850 running 1920 x 1080 at the moment and am waiting for the 7900 series. I suppose it depends on what card and resolution you are currently using.
