This is taking an extreme amount of time and I've been using an ancient card in the computer just to have a display in the interim. I've also emailed for an update but no one has replied.

I did now get a reply - thank you.
However, if I return a 4870x2 (purchased 21 Oct 2008) after it dies within the 1st 12 months (Manufacturer told me to return it to you and not direct to them), should I not be getting a replacement? All I got was an offer of some money, which is less than even half the cost of what this card was or what a equally performant replacement costs. I sent the item back in October, just under the full 12 month period, and it took Scan until 25 January to then give me this offer.
The manufacturer, Powercolor, has a supposed 2 year warranty but I was directed to deal with the company which sold me the item (Scan). So what is the point of the warranty? http://www.powercolor.com/eng/support_warranty.asp
I'm rather disappointed, as £123 for a card as fast as a 5870 and which cost me £300 is quite poor. All it will allow me to do is buy a card that is half the speed of what I had before.

I can confirm the RMA was requested exactly 12 months after purchase, this model is no longer produced and as such has to be refunded, the refund takes into account the benefit of use you gained from the goods in this case you gained 12 months benefit of use. The refund calculated is indeed correct and will be processed shortly.
