    120mm Apache Fan

    Account - E-728871

    Invoice - 00E1423316

I have the above fan, tried it today and what seems to be happening is it moves just once and completly stops.

I have a Gigabyte GA-785GMT-USB3, AMD 785G, AM3, PCI-E 2.0, DDR3 1800, USB 3.0, SATA 3Gb/s, SATA RAID, mATX motherboard and the fan has the 4 pin connector as does the motherboard.

What is the problem? I can only at this time think that it is faulty.

Nothing is in the way of it.

    Please help, thank you.

    Re: 120mm Apache Fan

I had a similar problem with a Gigabyte board and after a lot of checking it turned out that the 4 pin socket was intended to be used for chipset cooling (the board had a passive heat sink) but the feed was still controlled by the chipset temperature so the fan was throttled back to the point where it wouldn't start. I connected the fan to a 3 pin connector and it worked fine.
I hope Scan don't mind me breaking the posting rules
