On the 11th of August, I ordered the Super Saver bundle:with a "1GB Palit GTX 460 Sonic, 3600MHz GDDR5, GPU 700MHz, Shader 1400MHz, 336Cores, DVI/ D-Sub/ HDMI"Xclio A380 Tower Black+Window & 25cm Front & 25cm Side Super Cooling Fans Screwless w/o PSU
700W FSP700-80GLN SATA/PCI-E 83%+ Eff Green ATX12v 2.01 OEM
Intel Core i7 930 D0 SLBKP Bloomfield 45nm, 2.8 GHz, QPI 4.8GT/s, 8MB Cache, 20x Ratio, 130W, Retail
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2, Intel X58, S1366, SLi/Xfire PCI-E 2, DDR3 2200<, USB3 & SATA 6Gb/s
1TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, 8.9 ms, NCQ, OEM
6GB (3x2GB) Corsair XMS3, DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600) Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.65V
On assembly, the system wouldn't power up properly. all case and component fans spun up as expected, but the system didn't even reach POST - no signs of life from the monitor, or the PC speaker.
Switching the Palit for an older PCI graphics card yielded the same result.
Short of a hardware fault somewhere, the only thing that comes to mind is the PSU only supplying a single 4-pin CPU power, when the tome of knowledge that came with the motherboard recommends 2x4-pin (or presumably 8-pin) for a 130W processor.
