    Windows 7 x64=BSOD - OC bundle

    Hi,

    I have i7 920, x58a ud3r, corsair 6gb, prolimatech overclock bundle. Also nvidia 9500. OC'd by scan to 3.6ghz.

    Running xp fine previously.

Twice i have installed windows 7 x64 on new drives and keep getting random BSOD's.

    It says bad pool header.

I see this is a common problem from google searches.

I have followed the guide posted in the forum about how to set up windows 7 for stability.

Anyone have the solution to this, running a similar set up?

    many thanks

Have you installed the chipset drivers from http://gigabyte.com/products/product...px?pid=3449#dl ?

I have never seen flawless OS and Windows (7?) in particular is very far from it.

Does it BSOD before or after the drivers?

    Re: Windows 7 x64=BSOD

First test when using an overclocked system should be - does it work at stock?

Windows x64 puts more strain on the CPU, and uses up entire sections which are not used on XP. For this reason, what may have been entirely stable on one OS, might not be on another.

Next safemode - same issue there? That reduces the likelihood of a driver issue, but doesn't eliminate.

    Re: Windows 7 x64=BSOD

    Thanks Agent..

I load optimized defaults and adjusted it for 64bit use (ahci,hpet64bit) and the windows 7 boot seems to work ok. ( But I have another os on seperate drive working fine with the overclock)

Shame that I cant use it overclocked though. The problem is I am not partial to overclocking myself.
thats why i bought the bundle!

I guess this is where the aftersales support may help. Could anyone over at scan give me some settings for my set up running win7 at 3.6ghz?

Or If you could just narrow it down to basic differences between the xp overclocks and the win7x64overclocks (i7 920, ga x58a ud3r, corsair xms 6gb,be quiet straight power 580W, I guess you have my specs?) that would help greatly.

    thanks in advance
