I would have thought your CPU was faulty if that is the case even at stock speeds and would need be RMA'ed. The best thing you can do to be completely sure would be to check a different CPU in your system and see if it errors in the same way as that would indicate there is a problem with it.

Or you could try your CPU in a different system. In any case I think your CPU is faulty!

I also have the same system (won it in the PCGamer competition ) and the same problem, looking all over the internet, a lot of people seem to be struggling with the same issue, I'm inclined to think it's a windows 7 / prime95 problem rather than my computer as it will do anything else you care to throw at it.

Would be nice to find a solution though, I want to hunt primes

Saying that I've just whacked bios down to optimal defaults and it seems to be running fine now so maybe there is something in Scan's OC setup...?

There does seem to be something odd going on.

I've been sticking with it, and the BSODs seem to have gone away so far (after re-entering all the BIOS settings, maybe it had corrupted at some point?).

Downloading the newest BIOS from Gigabyte (version F6; http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...3305&dl=1#bios) seems to have stabilised things slightly in Prime95, too. I managed to run it for 2hrs 30min the other day before a single core chucked out a rounding error. Give F6 a try, maybe that'll help?

I just turned Prime 95 off, runs fine for everything else so I'm not that fussed.
