Hi all,
So I bought and custom/home built a pc based on the 3xs radius p55 bundle (pre overclocked i5 760). Running windows 7 (64bit) professional.
It's been working well until recently when a quirk developed.
USB devices that I plugged in would make the requisite noise, but would not necessarily function properly. The first instance was my mp3 player; windows media player would not recognise it, yet I could still charge, load files manually etc. I assume this was the first sign of the problem.
Lately, my USB wireless mouse/keyboard would occasionally drop out, but replugging in would solve the problem.
However, catastrophically, I unplugged my USB wireless adapter as I was doing something at the rear of my desk. On plugging it back in, I get the usual noise, it shows in the device manager, but I am unable to use it. I've tried a brand new alternate, and the same occurs. The power light flicks on, the noise occurs, and then the power light goes off. The device shows in the device manager, is registered as correctly working, the driver is installed, but again the wireless manager cannot 'see' the device. When I remove the device, I get the disconnect noise.
I have tried: re-installing the drivers, verifying that there are no (!) by the devices in the device manager, removing all USB devices from the device manager then re-plugging in, re-installing the chipset... So I conclude this must be some sort of hardware problem?
Any ideas? I am now at my wits end!
