    Picking and shipping

    Hello Scan,

Bit of a long shot posting on here but your call centre is closed, could you please confirm that my order will be sent for delivery on Friday 29/07/2011? Payment was authorized at 13:05 28/07/2011 and I have still yet to recieve any emails after this.

    Regards,

    Re: Picking and shipping

I have just recieved an email from your support team,

"Thank you for your custom. We're writing to give you an update on your order and the out of stock item(s) listed below:

    Intel Core i5 2500K unlocked s

As detailed in our previous email, the estimated lead date given to us from our suppliers was 27/06/2011."

I never recieved the previous email but that is besides the point, I need this kit tomorrow and noticed that you have now swapped around the Retail 2500k and OEM 2500k availability (at the time of order OEM was out of stock which was why I did not buy it). Please send an OEM version of the CPU.

    Re: Picking and shipping

Why on earth would I only be notified of stock running out AFTER your customer support has closed and when it is too late to make amendments to my order so that it can be sent out on time. This is after 3 different members of staff confirmed that as long as the payment was recieved in full before 4:30 the order would be shipped today.

Looks like Saturday delivery it is.

Because they pack and ship orders up until 8pm so its not always possible to ship every order and items will go out of stock.

    Re: Picking and shipping

Sorry but I find this difficult to believe, surely once a product is paid for it is marked off of the available stock automatically and not when the item is actually picked.

The "We have 1 motherboard left and someone has paid for it but we will keep selling that motherboard because it is still physically here." mentallity does not seem to work. I think what is more likely to have happened is that someone incorrectly marked down some OEM boxes as Retail and this information was put on to the site, when the x member of staff has gone to pick up my processor they have seen that these are not actually retail but OEM boxes and informed whoever updates the website.

If I was informed of this before the customer service lines closed I would have been able to change my retail box to an OEM one and save the hassle (the only reason I ordered retail and not OEM was because OEM was displaying out of stock and retail in stock)

    Re: Picking and shipping

You have to realise and understand that SCAN aren't online only and do have a store and at any one time there can be any number of orders going in via phone, in person at the store and online, so while there may be 5 of a particular item left when you start to place you order, during your ordering 6 people could place orders at the same time or within a very short time period and unfortunately one person will have to miss out in this case.

    Re: Picking and shipping

    Kurshu

I can confirm our stock level was -4 when your order was placed... I am not usually so sure in these situations except I have been dealing with pricing and stock queries to do with the 2500K Retail and OEM and I can be %100 confident when I say that this CPU was showing as pre-order when this order was placed.

The product was listed with a Blue cross and marked as Pre-order to show we do not have stock before the order was placed and payment taken.

We are due to receive more stock today so please continue to check you automated e-mails for updates to the order status.

    Best Regards

    Re: Picking and shipping

I have now amended this order over the phone and arranged for Saturday delivery. I admit the processor may have gone out of stock while my payment was being authorized (damn barclays fraud prevention).

Sorry if I have come across as aggressive on this thread but I am an addict suffering from PC withdrawal!
