    HDD Buzzing noise

    Hi guys

Over the past week I have noticed that one of the harddrives that I bought is buzzing. It buzzes at the rate of a fast pulse... the noise isn't constant... sometimes it will stop for several hours then start again. It's running in a home server and for the most part it's idle.

Here is a video that you can hear the buzzing in... https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resi...Ko5QjllArIrp6U

It's set up in RAID 1 so if I remove this harddrive for RMA and then replace it will it re mirror the data automatically?

    Thanks

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Please give the drive a once over with Seatools: http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/ and reply back with the results.

The array should re-build automatically if the drive needs to be replaced.

    Regards
