    Rma 290008

    Hi,

i recently sent a RMA request to Scan, and it was authorised. I then sent my parcel back to them, and the received it on the 7th . However, I have had no reply from any of my emails, and no confirmation that Scan has even got my graphics card ( on the tracking section of the website, there is a tick next to authorised, but nothing next to received package ?)

Can anyone assure me that something IS being done? Just that , I was told that Scan is the best place to buy all my stuff, and a quick google search gives you several unhappy posts .

Will be probably another day or so before getting checked in. Returns is always busy.

    Re: Rma 290008

Yeah , I finally got a reply saying to allow up to 7 days , so that's until Friday , to even see if they can replace it ... I was hoping I'd only have to wait for max 5 days , but I can't wait to have my GPU in my case again .

    Mehta23,

Having checked the RMA details, the card being sent is brand new from stock.

    Kind regards,

    Re: Rma 290008

It came in the post today, in a sort of special black polystyrene packaging. The card itself looks good, a few scratches here and there, and a bit of dust and stuff, so doesn't look that new. Going to test it now.

Edit: Tried the EVGA Precision Test for a few minutes, and all seemed well. However, when I opened a few games and also when I opened up the folding client, my card makes that high pitched whine again

    Re: Rma 290008

    Mehta23,

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having, I have double checked the card and can 100% confirm that we sent out a brand new unused item. Should we raise an RMA for you?

    Kind regards,

    Re: Rma 290008

If you think another RMA may solve my problem then I am fine with that.

I don't know if this helps ( I just read opened the Scan website that said my previous card was tested, and was overheating) but I ran the Furry Stress Test in EVGA Precision for about 10 minutes, and my card hit 70C.

    Re: Rma 290008

    Mehta23,

If the current card is running at 70oc then it is not overheating, can you confirm the type of power supply you are running?

    Kind regards,

    Re: Rma 290008

    Mehta23,

The power supply you are using is more than adequate for the card you are running, if the high pitch noise is only happening in the Folding program I could only assume that this because the card is being put under high amounts of stress, is the sound audible under any other programs or games?

    Kind regards,

OK. So I was in Chrome with a few other windows open, and suddenly I saw a black screen and then white and everything was unresponsive. The music I was listening to just sort of stuttered repeatedly? GPU fault?

    Mehta23,

From what you are saying the issue would point towards the GPU, testing the card in another machine would confirm this.

    Kind regards,
