Gigabyte g1 970 screen flicker on display port

Hi,

I got the above card for christmas and have had an annoying flickering issue on the display port monitor since. I've purchased a new display port cable to see if this was the issue but it keeps occuring.

I;ve asked on the forum and Kalniel pointed out this article : https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...76386/#4376386

It looks like its a known issue with display port that is fixed by a vbios update but I cant find any details on how to do this and it sounds like it may be a manufacturer thing. Are you aware of this issue or know how I can resolve it?

The flicker is making it almost impossible to do anthing on my computer.

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having, if you have not do so already please try the Gigabyte @bios program which can be downloaded below:

If the program does not download the latest BIOS for your card please let me know and I will contact Gigabyte to see if they can provide one for you.

I've installed the app but it doesnt seem to have an option to download the latest bios only to flash from a file.

COuld you get the latest Bios for me please?

I have contacted Gigabyte to request the latest Bios for the card, as soon as they reply I will let you know.

Gigabyte have requested the serial number from your card and the current BIOS version, you should be able to obtain the bios version by using GPU-Z, this can be downloaded from:

http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

If you could PM those details I will send this over to Gigabyte right away.

Hi Mick,

I've installed the bios and the flickering is still happening

Output via dvi is fine but I'm using a 27 inch dell monitor so I need to output via display port really.

Did you try running the Nvidia hotfix from the link you provided? Failing this I could only suggest checking for any firmware updates for your monitor and requesting a return for the card if the issue cannot be resolved.

I tried the nvidia hotfix and it made no difference.

I've just checked and there dont seem to be any firmware updats for my monitor. The monitor worked fine on my previous card using display port with no flicker.

I'll try it in another computer to make sure its not something with the rest of my set up.

If I bring the card to the shop is it possible to test whilst i'm there still?
