    Return of unwanted item?

    Hey,

I bought a Mirai 23" LCD TV as a present on the 3rd of March directly from the store, but after giving it to the person they were actually lucky enough to have recieved a 26" TV from their parents

What is the returns policy on things like this? I work in another retailer (Jessops) and our policy is 30 days as long as the goods are as they were sold....I can't see anything on your site that mentions this?

If i could get a reply ASAP as I'll be returning it tomorrow and wouldnt want to make a journey to Bolton (I live near Blackburn)

    Cheers

    Tom.

    Delivered or posted to you?
If it was posted, its covered under the distance selling act. From the store direct - no idea

Isnt there a similar law in place anyway for stores, the majority give you 28 days to take stuff back after that its their discretion of they issue vouchers. Its best practice anyway so I dont see any problems as long as the packaging is still in decent condition.

It amazing, as you probably know, the amount of people that tear things to pieces then expect to be able to return it without question

scan are normally quite good with things like this though, 2 + 2 = 5 and all that. Just have to wait and see what they say tomorrow though

May be quicker to ring our Returns team to ask over this .. especially on a Monday when we'll have a lot of query backlogs to clear.

Although for store purchases companies do not have to offer any returns period for unwanted goods at Scan we generally stick to the same policy as distance selling, therefore we do generally allow 7 days, providing the item is completely unopened and unused you can return the item tomorrow 13/03/07 for a refund, if you don't return tomorrow then i'm afraid we wont be able to accept the item back.
