    XFX 7600 GS RMA questions

    I received an RMA for my XFX 7600 GS just over a week ago, as it was creating purply patterns across the screen (artifacting?) and have several questions.

    1. I have not got around to sending the card off yet, as the packaging was at home whilst I was at uni, so is the RMA still valid after about 9 days?

    2. As it is a graphics card, I had to buy a replacement, as I couldn't have been without one for a week (final year student - essays). Can I just have my money refunded? Or even credit to spend at scan, the problem has now gone, which confirms it was with the card.

    usually you will only get a refund if the card is under 28 days old or if they find it faulty and do not have an equivalent replacement to give you

    good luck mate it isnt a definite that they wont i had a 6800gt from dabs for 11 months and it blew they took it back tested it seemed to have more in stock but gave me a full refund for it which paid for a 7800gt and £100 spare

    Return it under the sale of goods act, which specifies that , if goods are faulty, a replacement or refund must be offered (customers choice). Within six months, if a fault occurs, then it is deemed that the fault was present at time of sale.

    With scan, however, I don't think you will have much trouble, they have very good c. service, just be polite and explain your problem rationally.
